I am very pleased with it. And I am now ready to focus on painting. Let the Art A Day January begin.. :)

Beyond the Studio Door!!!!

Well I did it. We framed the studio door, finally, and I painted it like stones and painted the door to look like looking into "Space"  It was about 2 weeks, although I probably could have gotten done in a few days. But anywhoo it is done. Looks great, I think. Adds another dimension. "Look thru the Stone Portal into another World"  :)

In the meantime, happy Space Truckin'  :)

2011 Psychic Fair

Well another Psychic Fair has come and gone. I had a great time. Lots of folks come by and just get lost in paintings. Why I even had the famous artist LaPoynte come by and do sketches all day. That was great he sketched different scenes, there must have been something spiritual because lots of folks drifted in, mostly artists. So we were all talking about getting stuff into You and I Gallery this week for the THIS IS WHAT I DO Show.
Some of you may not beleive in coincidences and synchronicities, but I got to tell you that as per usual for the fair every year the connections and weird experiences just magnify. Here is an interesting story: In March a FaceBook friend said she was sending her friend, Micki, to the Psychic Fair to meet me and see if I want to design wine label for their winery. Next day I got email that came from Badger Mtn Winery, offering a wine label contest for a new wine, bottom of email was signed Micki. So I thought that was same person. Well month later at the Psychic Fair this Micki comes by to meet me. She is NOT the same Micki from the Badger Mtn Winery. 2 Mickis, 2 Wineries, 2 Wine Label requests, heck.. even 2 Mountains. Thats a little off center :))  Right?  I found that too cool :))  Here are some pics of my booth at the fair.

Othello... March 26, 2011

Well went to Othello with the Urban Sketchers from the Tri-Cities. Only 3 of us showed up. But had a great time looking through the potholes and the rock formations. Didn't get close enough to see the Cranes.
But got some great shots of the area and the Old Hotel Gallery in Othello. Othello Pix

I am going to be the featured artist in May. Hows that for a surprise  :))  check out this place:

Mural on Computer Room Wall

My first, maybe my only Mural. I did this when we first moved in back in 2002. Took out some paneling and found cement block that just said.. "Paint Me" :)) ha ... so I did.

Al Stewart in "Wine Passages"

This is a piece I did for Al Stewart. No he didn't solicite the painting I just wanted to do that one and give it to him at a concert. He didn't want it, but he autographed it anyway. But he loved it. This was back in 2003 I believe, out at the Three Rivers Winery in Walla Walla. Thanks Al

This is a strange coincidence. I went out with the 509 Sketchers a few weeks back and did the Clover Island Lighthouse, top picture was my drawing that morning. Then I set up a design that is going to made into a pin and he wanted the Lighthouse on it. With the Cable Bridge behind it. So I did just a vector drawing in Corel Draw. Just straight on, I didn't make it 3d or rounded. Figuring it's going on a pin less than 3/4 inch high. The thing is , I lost the photographs I took that day on my desktop computer that crashed that weekend. So I got out my sketch pad, found that drawing and then made a computer one. Neat coincidence. :)
